Another spring has sprung up on us and I couldn’t be more excited! I’ve rounded up a few different brands and styles of lipstick to try out and then pass along my experiences with you lovely gals. Actually, I had such a loot of new lipsticks that I had no choice but to divide my usual spring lipstick review into TWO blog posts. So keep an eye out for my next post featuring 4 different lipsticks! Now without further ado, let’s get this review going!
Too Faced La Crème Lip Cream // Shade shown above: Juicy Melons
Too Faced La Crème Lip Cream // Shade shown above: Topless
Too Faced La Crème Lip Cream // Shade shown above: Double Bubble
I am not being sponsored by Too Faced in anyway, so believe me when I tell you: this lipstick is the bomb. When I was in high school, I remember sitting next to a lovely girl in geometry class, when the topic of lipsticks came up. I always thought it was just me who felt that lipsticks were dry and stiff on my lips until this girl said, “I don’t like them either, they’re so drying. I feel like they suck the moisture out of my lips.” This girl had no idea what a lasting impression that statement made on my life-ha! It wasn’t alone, lipsticks felt dry to others too! This lipstick is different, though. It feels like lip balm on your lips, but with the most beautiful punch of color! In my opinion, this lipstick is worth the price, and I will definitely be buying more shades throughout the year. If you want to shop any of these shades, just click right on the shade!
Onto the next lipstick!
Smashbox L.A. Lights // Shade shown above: Laurel Canyon Coral
This I really like, but don’t know if I’d use the word love. I’m crazy about this color and it feels great on my lips- win, win! However, this product was designed to work as both a lipstick and a cheek color. While I love the lipstick, I’m not in love with the blush aspect of it. I don’t necessarily think it’s a design flaw, I believe it’s more of a user error issue. I love my powder blushes I can just sweep on top of my bronzer and go! I felt like blending with this blush stick really wore down my bronzer and foundation (maybe I was blending too hard?!) and I was just over all not a fan. However, I know many more of you out there are more skilled at applying make up than I am, so I wouldn’t write it off on my account. Also, did you know coral is a color that universally looks good on all women? So get out there and try a coral shade!
For anyone curious, my nail color is Maybelline Color Show in shade Poolside. My top is a past season J.Crew shirt, but there is a newer version of this top on their site found here. I hope you’ve enjoyed this first part of my spring lipstick reviews and pop back soon for the second part!
